Indian River County SWAT: A Quarter Full of Action and Advocacy!
      June 08, 2025

Indian River County SWAT has had an eventful and impactful few months!
Earlier this year, Indian River Charter High School took a proactive role in monitoring and reporting efforts, reinforcing their commitment to a tobacco-free environment. This initiative led to an engaging meeting with state policymakers, sparking important discussions. The school’s zero-tolerance policy on tobacco was clear—and the conversation that day was both inspiring and energizing!

Adding to the excitement, Indian River County was honored to have not one, but two Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Youth Advocacy Board Members representing the state meeting this year! These dedicated students played a vital role in leading the Florida Statewide SWAT Conference in Lake Mary, FL, from June 5-8. The conference was packed with youth-led initiatives, empowering activities, and meaningful connections. By all accounts, it was one of the most successful conferences yet!

As the 2024-25 school year winds down, Indian River County SWAT is actively seeking new recruits to join the movement. If you're passionate about standing up against tobacco and making a difference, now is the time to get involved!

Together, we’re shaping a healthier, tobacco-free future—one student at a time.
